El CB Atapuerca , que es como se denomina al Club desde hace cuatro años, nació en el año 1999 a partir de la cantera inagotable del CD Maristas de Burgos, y tras 3 temporadas de consolidación en la Liga EBA, en la temporada 02/03 dio el salto a la Liga LEB-2, categoría en la que ha venido militando de manera ininterrumpida hasta hace dos, cuando ascendió a la Liga LEB. En la temporada 04/05, tras quedar primeros en la fase regular batiendo el record de victorias en la historia de la LEB-2, el equipo volvió a caer en semifinales frente al Alcudia-Aracena, si bien esa temporada se consiguió la Copa LEB en Gandía. Finalmente, en la temporada 05/06 el Club consiguió hacer realidad su purpose of promotion to League LEB: Autocad over 1 in 6 regular season wins and chained in the promotion play-offs, finishing as champion of the category in the final against Gandia. Born in Granada for 35 years, he directed and in all categories of the National Basketball: EBA (Alborg, St. Adele, CB Granada), LEB-2 (Linense), LEB (Menorca Basket and CAI Zaragoza) and ACB (Menorca basketball).
